Artist statement:

David Sharpe is a woodcarver whose dedication to his art has garnered national and international recognition. David’s journey in woodcarving began in 2006, and since then, he has made an indelible mark in the world of carving, not only through his stunning creations but also by sharing his knowledge with students across the U.S.

In 2009, David began teaching, offering classes all over the country, and has since inspired countless woodcarving enthusiasts. His skill and passion have earned him top honors in both national and international carving competitions, where he has proudly secured 1st place.

David’s remarkable talent has been featured in Woodcarving magazine, a highly regarded international publication. He has also appeared on Tennessee Crossroads and various other TV shows, as well as in numerous magazines, further cementing his reputation as a master of his craft.

At his studio, David now offers one-on-one instruction, providing students with the opportunity to learn from a true expert in a personalized setting. In addition to teaching, he creates custom orders that showcase his versatility and skill. His work spans a variety of subjects, including realistic human busts, animals, and even intricate fireplace mantles.
